This seems to me like a general game bug and not Dasaria-specific, but I had never experienced it elsewhere and it's rather serious, so I thought I'd report it anyway. It goes like this:
- Magic item has a race/class restriction and a certain Use Magic Device score is needed in order to bypass those. 11 ranks, in this particular case.
- One way or another (for instance, with the spell Living Undeath), the character gets a temporal penalty to charisma, and hence to UMD as well. Character has less than the required UMD now.
- The equipped item that required UMD disappears entirely, instead of simply be unequipped and put in the inventory. No sign of it on the ground either. The inventory wasn't full.
I've had this happened twice already, with the lich's crown if the item makes a difference (for some reason, I think I can still use my holy avenger as long as I don't unequip it, and it has the same UMD requirement). The CHA penalty can be prevented sometimes, but you can't always control it.
Changing areas and restarting the game doesn't make a difference. There hasn't been a server reset yet, but I'd be surprised if the items reappeared after the next one.

Re: Vanishing items
Three times now. This last time it was just some sort of skill penalty spell from enemies, not Living Undeath.Arkalezth wrote:I've had this happened twice already

Re: Vanishing items
Well, it seems that I was wrong. I've just found the supposedly vanished items inside the wyvern sack. There's still the question of why they automatically moved there instead of just being put in the normal inventory (and I'd appreciate if that could be fixed), but at least it's good to know that they're not lost.
