A small child darted out of the temple to Lochwar almost unnoticed among the older students and priests that had been studying the ancient tomes held in its library. The shouts of alarm distracted most as bucket teams assembled to draw water from the well. Great clouds of smoke billowed from the open windows. Stain glass had shattered where the bookcases and alters nearest the walls had burst into flame. The guard might have missed the child entirely had he not feared for her well being.
The little one was black with ash and her tiny dress showed several areas where it had been burnt. The Talon guard made to catch her collar and sweep her up to look her over and found he could not. He tipped slightly forward from the weight of her allowing the little one to take him off balance. He regrettably admired the grace of her movements as he fell to his face on the ground. Her substantial weight was on his back in less than a moment. “Tell Master Minuvas that the Goddess will not be ignored. This is only the beginning. None of Lochwar’s holy ones were sacrificed to the Goddess this time but she will not be so charitable in the future.”
The guardsman could restrain himself no longer as the fury boiled in his veins. “Who are you!?! Why have you done this!?!”
“I am destiny and my reasons are my own. Minuvas can no longer claim sanctuary under the laws of the land. The Emperor grows weary of his fanatical requests for more power. The priest’s antagonism toward all people of this realm shows a greater need for self-discipline on his part. Think on these words Talon. The Emperor would certainly not look favorably on the guards within his lands being led by religious authorities. Enjoy your life while you can and for now you sleep.” A ringing hammer blow to the back of the man’s head followed and he knew no more.
The child stripped the dress from her armor and left it beside the now unconscious guard. “That should present an interesting picture to whoever finds him first. That should liven his interview with Minuvas.” She stayed only a few moments more, watching the smoking windows of the church intently. There were other errands in need of her attention this evening and just enough night left to finish them.

A Tragedy at Thrall's Gate
“I think men are afraid to be with a successful woman, because we are terribly strong, we know what we want and we are not fragile enough.” Shirley Bassey
When Minuvas saw the emerging smoke from his temple, he Calmly walked over.
He approached one of his Neophytes "My Certificate?"
"Yes, here it - we salvaged that and most of the Books, Father"
"Yes well, the Fire shouldn't do much damage to the stone structure"
"What of the Heretics in the Temple Father?"
"What of them? They wanted softer beds, so I gave them cloth beds - now they shall die in their vanity. Lochwars will be done, Neophyte"
"Father...are you not concerned that someone has attacked the Church?"
"Me? I can rebuild stone, and my certification is saved with most of my books - knowledge."
A Talon Guard Ran over to Minuvas, rubbing his forehead from an apparent wound "Father! Your Church, we had no idea.....the assailaint spoke of the "Goddess""
Minuvas only stroked his chin "I think this was no work of Heresy, but perhaps the misguidance of a Follower of one of our own. I shall make sure to include the Goddesses in my prayers tonight, as Lochwar shall not deny the glory of any of his sisters"
"Father? Why do you not seek revenge..."
"Ahh yes, I am not worried. I am not the one who attacked the home of the King of God's, all God's. I think I have alot less to be worried about. If anything, this person has proven my case. That the Barbarians here would dare attack a Temple to devoted to Lochwar? I think this fool might of tripled the donations from the Local Citizenry."
"Regardless, Thank you for your Service Talon Soldier - I'm sure you'll provide a fine report of this incident to your Superiors. It seems like you were attacked?"
The Talon soldier sniffed the air "What is that smell? It smells like Charred Flesh? Oh no Father! Theres still people in the Temple!"
In a faked Empathy "Oh no! You're right , but I suppose if we knew this a few minutes ago, we might of been able to save them...its too late now. Guess that poor chap is now a murderer too. The Heretics I had in the back, I just convinced to atone for their ways and had converted them to Lochwar."
The Talon Soldier "I shall make my report, the Emperor was with us today - that we were saved from such a fright."
"This is such a pity" laughed Minuvas, the Neophytes around him looking rather confused - but suddenly understanding.
"We will use this to our advantage goto Cear, we shall speak of how we Triumphantly held off Assailants and enemies of the Church. When they realised they couldn't kill any of us, since we all stand here, they decide to attempt to light our Stone Church on fire - and in the process kill 4 recently converted Lochwar followers."
They bowed before him "Yes, Father"
Minuvas has been waiting for some kind of push to prove to the Church officials there is cause for a heavier hand here, and he finally got what he needed...

Kilrux frowned over the smoking structure, the screams of the crisped corpses within now silent, "what a waste of time..." he uttered under his breath. Lochwar will punish those guilty of this crime and Kilrux only hoped that Lochwar would use him carve justice.
