*Approaches the notice, arriving just in time to hear the elf's comment, although she seems unaware of the words said. As she walks in to read it, she seems to stumble, stomping heavily into a muddy puddle, sending streaks of the usual city offal flying at the elf's pants*
"What's it say?"
*She blinks at the smudges of the smelly goo on the man's clothing, blinking with complete surprise*
"Whoa! Um, sorry?"

"As appreciated as that is, I doubt it will be a solution to stop all thievery, will it? Unless you simply start executing every thief caught in the public's eye. I wager that will change some minds, won't it? Perhaps you could start by arresting this -thing- for slandering me.Kartina wrote:"No need for unpleasantries. Please note that the Guard will attempt to resolve this issue as soon as possible"

She smiles lightly at Vahene, tilting her head to the side.
"The Guard is always hiring, miss, and you are welcome to join and address any issues you feel require such action.
That aside, it is your right to report any concerns you may have to a member of the guard, or the Ministry.
We do not write the laws, miss, we simply make certain their are respected.
As to slander..."
She chuckles.
"If there was a law against it, the Gaol would take about half the city to accomodate"
She gives Vahene a meaningful look as she continues with the sentence.
"all the instances of it."
Turning toward Chia, she frowns, the words coming out in a flat voice of somebody doing their best to deal with too routine of a situation.
"And you, miss, might wish to reevaluate your actions. Right now they are bordering on an offense of Disturbing Peace. Before you start claiming so, it is not because of your race, but because of your behavior."
She crosses arms over the tabbard bearing the Guard insignia covering her chest, appearing too tired to be amused by the situation.

Cìrdan shoots a lethal glare at Chia.
"You!" he exclaims upon recognizing her. "YOU! Guardswoman, you are absolutely correct. She disturbs the peace and she is ruining my clothes. I demand compensation! She did this on purpose, just like she did at the inn. She hates me!"
The elf's cheeks are flustered with outrage.
"Why these creatures are allowed within the ci-.. Not that I am in any way questioning the hand by which we are ruled, madam, but one must ask oneself why such tramps and vagabonds are accepted along with us upstanding citizens."
He dabs absently at the mud on his pants as he speaks.

A gentle breeze wends its way through the branches and leaves, a subtle sylvan stirring suddenly coalescing into the form of a green man, striding alone from the thicket.
Allaric Wyrvernsbane, humble tracker, wearily returns to his simple camp north of Cear. He sets out his kit for the night, and with an oiled rag, begins to scour a viscous black ichor from the blade of his longsword. Tossed into the campfire, the befouled rag explodes in a shower of sparks, yielding its demonic essences to heaven.
He kicks back on his bedroll and watches the night sky reel above him.

// OOC seriously, this guy was out of control. having been warned IC of his trouble-making in n. cear, i wasn't exactly taken by surprise to discover him staking out losian talifar late last night (while he was stealthed, he was however in plain view to me), no doubt harassing people coming back from a certain tower.
he began to creep up on me, so i moved north towards the gate to n. cear, thinking (erroneously) that it would be obvious from this that I could plainly see him. he followed me north. i moved south again. he followed me south. i broke east towards the buck. he follows. now i'm laughing to myself. i start walking around in circles and he follows, the two of us forming a strange dasarian merry-go-round. ok, so our little game is up, i go to the keyboard to start typing to him IC, and the little bastard makes a grab for something and sprints off towards the gate to escape. the cojones on this guy!
so anyway, i follow him to n. cear, i materialize directly in front of the gate to trades, and who should siddle up to me stealthed (again, i see him plainly), trying to separate me from my belongings? you guessed it. anyway, he clearly did *NOT* have me marked as hostile, as i was unable to retaliate quickly, foiled by the conversation icon. don't know what he managed to steal, if anything. Fortunately whatever it was wasn't amoung my poor, long-suffering character's few prized possessions.
i moved back to trades and commons, lest he continue to pester me from beyond the grave, and immediately timed out (network issues). otherwise i would have sent some sharply worded tells in the direction of the graveyard.
ps: Nice work, Kartina!

Spotting Chia from a distance Rhode walks up quietly and stands behind Cirdan, while listening to the conversation taking place. He winks at her while grinning at the other women gathered around the notice.
Upon hearing Cirdan’s tone he frowns and jabs a finger sharply into the Elfs back. “Dis feller give’n yous women folk some problems?”

"Why, I never!" Cìrdan spits indignantly. "I am the one being harassed here, good sir, not her!"Mon-da-oth wrote:Upon hearing Cirdan’s tone he frowns and jabs a finger sharply into the Elfs back. “Dis feller give’n yous women folk some problems?”
He motions furiously for his mud-caked pants.
"She is a liar and, I have no doubts, a thief. What is wrong with this place to accuse upstanding citizens of causing trouble when there are tielfings right here!"
