I haven't seen some of you around lately, even on the boards.

Just wondering if Dasaria 1 people are still checking around, or if real-life is kicking them in the pants, or what?

I haven't heard from certain folk, and was just curious who was still reading the boards?

I still persue the forums and once in a rare moment can be found in game for short bits of time. However, I spend a lot of my time pouring food in one end of a baby and cleaning it up from the other.

I check the boards as I can but am working for the U.S. gov. helping to trian troops before deployment and have a 2 year old these days so am pretty short on play time.

I'm still here, but to be honest, I consider all of us still here "Dasaria 2" players. I don't like the accidental elitism that tends to come packaged along with thinking of people according to how early they joined the server.

Yeah, I'm being silly. But........., and I'm asking this sincerely, people keep pointing to Das 1 as an example of how players don't need anything but themselves to have fun,....maybe the Das 1 players left can show us how (again not trying to be snarky)

Well let's be honest to effectivly roleplay you do need other players otherwise you may as well just be sitting in a chair day dreaming and there is nothing wrong with that. How ever if you enjoy pve style gaming (and I do) there is still a lot of things you can do alone ( mind you I don't belive I got past lvl 13 in das2). There are quests you can work on and try new tactics for, or you could (the word thst seems to be hated) grind on the mobs you can solo so you can explore new content, or you could just go through and see what you can out run as you look around.Remember though I'm an old everquest player so I got used to doing the same thing over and grinding a lot. As for the players doing with out much gm interaction we had some very distint and active faction. We had the loyal dassarians ofcourse but we also had a lot of E.O.S. players. There were nurgalites and drow (yes drow) in abundance when I was playing. One of my first memrable experances was running a deliver quest with Casio and Kali and getting tells from an eos wanting the chance to role-play we said sure and in moments you had a player run event with no real deaths but close to epic batles where they bad guys got away and the good guys ran to report what happened to the redboots. I remember nurgalites sending Zombies through the village and running around the out side killing guards while the rest of the players were looking to find and put a stop to it. Some time picking an enemy can spice things up.

Heh, I remember my sorceresses first interaction with Kell (who, mind you, was very, very EOS). We just sort of bumped into each other out of town, and it went from there... sometimes I loved having a character who could be manipulated that easily.. its sort of hard playing one now that can't be. But, sometimes all you need to do a player driven storyline is to have one other person - they don't even need to be EOS, but they just need to be there, typing back to you.

And speaking of me, and my evil villany; I'm playing City of Villains. At least -there- I get to rob banks, kidnap and silence people for people who do appreciate my hard labor with contracts and good cash. Have a family support, you know. And, to be honest, what you put in is what you get out so the wages aren't shabby.

I have a deep profound love for Dasaria and what it has ment to me in my gaming years, but sadly I'm way to busy with other things to devout the time I would want to devout into a character and the world of Dasaria. Its been that way for over a year now but I am still a forum reader and always a member of this great place. I can't imagine I'll ever disappear completely


I won't lie, I miss playing NWN in general, I miss the long nights of endless gaming but I don't think I have the same passion I once had, its just that simple for me. If anyone ev3er wants to BS just PM me and I'll get back to you.
