dropping items on the ground. . .

Post by Farwalker »

Hello Dasaria!

Just a little thing here for our newer player about dropping items on the ground.

the main issue with dropping items on the ground is that it lags up the server and can cause the server to crash. The DMs and Builders have asked in game many times since I have been playing over the last 8 months to throw items in the rubish bins. The Dasaria team have even added "Ealden's Junk Box" for items that you can sell and don't want to throw away and that could be used by other players.

On top of helping to keep the server running strong and lag free for everyone to enjoy. . . Keeping "litter" off the ground is polite and good game etiquette. Also for those of us who are Role Play minded, there is a standing law that carries the punishment of death for littering.

I have been ignoring this for a while but after the verbal "middle finger" I recieved from the rude player HumanToxin I decided to say something.

I asked HumanToxin if he had dropped an item on the ground right next to Ealden. . .(The is Ealden's Junk Box on one side & a Rubbish Bin on the other mind you) He answered "Yeah why"
I asked, starting with "please" not to drop items on the ground and explained like above why. HumanToxin replied by saying, "That's nice, [you] pick it up and throw it away." After I told him it is considered polite not to drop stuff on the ground his replay was, "I don't have any manners" So just be aware HumanToxin is a self proclaimed rude player.

I think something that might aid in this, is when the trash can opens it automatically opens up a players inventory. Seriously I think that some of the UBER lazy pcs that place the items right next to the trash can, get flustered that they have to click there inventory opened. Just something to throw up in the air.

Aye. I tend to pick up and toss out any lazy man's trash except for the DM Tools. I remember logging in one day to see about half a dozen of those things spread out all over North Cear. If I pick these up, to throw away, are they going to get trapped in my inventory? I know I can't dump my own dm tool item, and I can't figure out how anyone else is doing it.

Don't try to pick up the DMFI tools.

when people don't do it in real life, they won't do it in game. Drop garbage on their front lawn and I'd bet they'd hit the roof though.

Bluenaga, you may notice sometimes when you log into Dasaria that there is a DMFI tool under your feet, I think that sometimes when you log in it drops one. The only reason I can think of is if you already have one, it drops the new one (Like if you logged in earlier, you'd have one made for you, and then a new one would drop?)
