The Missing Corpse

Post by Wired »

The Crypt Keeper af the Temple of Peralia in Two Bridges pulled his cloak tighter around his shoulders and spoke while keeping one eye nervously on the graves.

"Aye, I discovered it first thing this morning. I broke my rest early in order to inspect the grounds and Temple after the wicked storm we had last night, only to find that the Crypt had been violated by unknown persons in the night. Several tombs were upset, it's almost like they was looking for someone in particular. We're still sorting out all the pieces, but it seems the remains of an important dignitary have been removed from the premises. "

He shook his head in disbelief, punctuating his next admission. "I'm beside myself how this could have happened without altering none of the Temple staff."

The work proceeds quickly. The crypt beneath the Temple is primarily a resting place for distinguished individuals, the club is an elite and small one. Moreover, the Church's records on matters of the disposition of it's parishioner's remains is naturally meticulous. Within hours the missing remains are identified as those of Father Marrent Arghivius.

*As soon as this is found Brother Kenshin writes up a short brief letter and runs it to the Temple of Lochwar himself.*

"Brothers and Sisters. Under the athority as senior Requiem Guard I am calling all Priests and Guards to the Temple. All windows shall be nailed closed from the inside. The Requiem Priests shall remain in the temple. Brother Uriah and I will stand outside at the Temple door and the door will be locked. This we must do untill Exemplar Methos Rift and his clergy arrive. The body taken was that of the most venerable Father Marrent Arghivius. I can not stress this more. However as our Order is not under my rule I welcome everyone's comments and suggestions."

Brother and Sisters, what are we to do about the theft of Father Marrent's body? Have we heard nothing from the Lochwarian? This demands action. I can not make this decision alone.

Sister Serenity fixes Brother Kenshin with a steady gaze. Have you noted the new fortifications in Thrall's Gate Brother? Clearly the Church of Lochwar is busy beyond the matter we must address. If you like I will ask Willow at the Church of Lochwar if she is aware of any progress. If she is not, we must seek others to assist us.

*nods to Serenity*

Brother Darius?
Sister Annah?
Brother Uriah?
Sister Admatha?

You all know very well that i have suspected the Temple of Culnul to have been behind several attacks on us since the temple opened. We have also suspected for some time that the Temple has been highjacked by faithless necromancers since the disappearance of Priestess Droory.

What are we to do about this?
