A summons to battle!

Post by LordVare »

Several small and bulging leather pouches sat on a well used wooden writing table beside an equally numbered stack of rolled and tied off scrolls of parchment. Soon each of these scrolls would be taken by courier to all of the major settlements, towns, and villages, across the Empire. It had taken days to write them all and it had seemed as if the task would never be finished. Baliska's writing hand ached from the effort of so much writing, but the copies had all been necessary to get the information to the outlaying regions. Perhaps they would see some turnout from the notices, or maybe not, it was all the same to her personally. For her part, she was looking over what she had written and reading over it once again for possible mistakes when a knock sounded at her door.

Pushing back her heavy wooden chair she stood and opened the door, nodding to the member of the Sterling Guard standing there and then at the fellow standing beside him. The man was wearing a worn travelers cloak and introduced himself briskly as one of the couriers that the Lady Leonson had hired to take a posting to Morell. "Yes, one moment.", she muttered and then leaning across the chair in which she had been sitting she picked up the scroll and pouch both labeled for that region and handed them to the courier. The pouch clinked noisily as it was lifted, obviously filled near to bursting from the amount of crowns in it. Couriers to Morell tended to be expensive, after all it could be a dangerous region to traverse.

Giving another nod to the guardsman she started to close the door then paused and called out. The guard had already turned to leave motioning for the man to follow him though both paused to listen at her call, "Send a member of the Sterling with him, someone who has seen a few battles. I want that message posted." With that she shut the door and sat back down at the desk unrolling the master copy she had written in the Inn a few nights ago. Once again she began to read over it as she had already done many times today.

Atrocity has no excuses, no mitigating argument. Atrocity never balances or rectifies the past. Atrocity merely arms the future for more atrocity. Whoever commits atrocity also commits those future atrocities thus bred.

((OOC: To Clarify the proposition, weekday nights at 8pm (Central Standard) Baliska and I (Gloira Leonson) will be running the OLM for the Empire. Anyone is welcome to join us at this time, the entire OLM takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour for the two of us alone so you should have little fear of death. Weekend Nights around the same time members of The Sterling Guard too low level for the OLM will be questing out of Cear (We may move to new locations depending on the general player level) where the Lady Leonson will be on hand to provide services to the wounded and fortify the group with buffs before they venture out to quest. We'll likely focus this group around level 6 for now since that seems to be the hardest early level to overcome, as the group on a whole get's higher we may branch into other areas. Hope to see some new faces to fight for the empire this week.))
