Ode

He left the warmth of his hearth as a youngster,
and was raised both a farmer and songster
from that green and lush valley and clear flowing water,
such were the lands of his home near the border;

_____ Away from the place of his birthing and the arms of his mother,
_____ amidst the tears of a ...

Re: Public flogging in Thralls Gate

Watches the flogging from within the crowd, taking note of all those involved. On completion of the punishment he turns, pulling on black leather gloves, and exits to the north.

A Message of Hope

A note is pinned to the doors of the Misty, the Buck, the Two Bridges Inn, and the Ravencrest. The casual reader might infer it is an inspirational piece meant to engender hope, especially given recent events.

The note reads thusly:

Glory to Siril, whose golden horn cries true,
Calling o'er sky ...

Re: NOTICE: Surplus Textile Stock

The following notice is found nailed quite sturdily to a rather unassuming tree-trunk, the tree itself being located only a few yards from the Apothecary's.

NOTICE: Once Again, More Surplus Textile Stock!

The war to the west has, once again, been treating the textile industry in Cear poorly ...

NOTICE: Surplus Textile Stock

The following notice is found nailed quite sturdily to a rather unassuming tree-trunk, the tree itself being located only a few yards from the Apothecary's.

NOTICE: Surplus Textile Stock!

In light of unfavourable and disadvantageous trading conditions to the far west, a rather large surplus ...

OOC:

My thanks to everyone who participated in this little thread. I had planned to unveil the entire poem through it, but alas, things do not always turn out as planned (and good for that, too!)

I did want to give credit where credit is due: the poem was not authored by myself, and is indeed the ...

Hands gloved in black leather clutched angrily as a rather common looking individual studied the scene from quite a distance. One had firmly taken hold of a tall and elegantly curved longbow, the other smoothing the fletching of a proud and slender arrow. The bowman had been planning to raise that ...

The sun had set wearily, perhaps in somber reflection of the so-called heretical blood that had been spilled earlier that morning.

The Heretic's Tree, a name travellers and locals began using, sat lonely in the dark quite a few miles from Thrall's Gate. It stood alongside the road, the three ...

The sun rose lazily over the mountain-capped horizon, and with it the energy and life of the City of Cear.

Four more notes had appeared, all fixed in place with either a slim, wooden arrow, or a sturdy crossbow bolt. Two were secured overtop their older counterparts, letters that had not been ...

The early morning crowd would find three new notes posted around the City of Cear. A fourth letter hung nearly a mile towards Thrall's Gate, hanging from the trunk of roadside tree.

The first and second note, written elegantly on vellum, was found in prominent locations throughout the North of Cear ...

Calling o'er sky, the glorious argent and blue.

Those who frequent Cear during the early morning hours would be afforded the opportunity to read quite a splendid and elegant looking letter. Written with an eloquent hand, on the finest of vellum, the following notices appeared in triplicate within the city. One appeared on the front door of the ...

Sometime In the Night

Sometime during the night—it was hard to tell when—two notices were found nailed securely to the doors of both the Mistyvale and the Buck.

Witnesses say the perpetrator was of diminished height, and was supposedly quite young.

The two notices were identical, and read thusly:

"From the mountains ...
