I get crazy sometimes lol XD
I know a whole lot of bi-polar people if that's called bi-polar. Actually, I might be one of them myself too!

Or maybe it's just called moodswings.

An ex-boyfriend of mine once called me a schizo. He was too stupid to understand me, hence I was a schizo.

My advice to you; unless a psychologist or psychiatrist says something like that after having done a couple of tests with you, don't think you're more special then the rest of humanity.

Nope, as everyone else said, you can't tell if you have a mental illness on your own. Watch Beautiful Minds, that will help you understand why

I stumbled upon this question on my own a year ago, and it hit me pretty badly (What if I'm insane, right now, and I'm hurting people...?), but I came to term with it, and accepted that if the whole freaking world ever tells me that I'm insane, I would discuss it rather than deny it or simple yield to it.

Insanity is a matter of perception. People who do things that appear strange to the common norm, are in most cases deemed insane.

Let us use a known image of a 'madman' as an example. A person who kills people in order to wear their flesh as a bodysuit.

Is this person insane? Just because he does not wear what normal people consider clothing? Is he insane because he believes it is better to wear the skin of other people, rather than walking around as himself?

The label 'insane' is put onto people who's actions we do not understand, actions that makes no sense to what the majority considers a 'normal' person. Such as those of the poor fellow described above.
Some mornings it doesn't seem worth it to gnaw through the leather straps..

If you're bi-polar, you're a manic depressive and should seek help, unless you really plan on topping yourself.

I think one of the best definitions of insanity is this:

If you continue doing the exact same thing and expecting a different result.

We all go through phases where we're "not ourselves" per se. There are various mental conditions - both temporary and permanent - that are entirely valid but do not qualify as insanity.

Glad to hear that you're feeling better about things, Eve.

Thats the definition my parents always used. I wish they hadn't because I was convinced they were certifiable by the age of twelve.
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

Hurray for Me!

Dont worry about anything Eve.. Your going to go through alot of crap.. Alot of things that are like.. Hmm.. Am I insane or am I not.. lol!

So you know.. Iv been a manic depressive.. Anger problems (when im depressed) sadly suicidal in the past.. um Anarexic and unstable. If you go through any of this stuff my best suggestion is to get some help even if they are just thoughts.. My best bet if you want to have someone to talk to.. just talk to someone over the net that you can trust about stuff.. or go talk to a psychologist. Heh.. heh heh.. Or you can talk to me and im not kidding.. just drop me a line :)

Neway.. cya later
