Evelond Formos

Post by Evelond Formos »

Young is the elf of Evelond Formos, and bright in more meanings than one. He is of light heart, but every light heart must bear a hard weight to keep it from floating away. O yes, with yellow, not blonde hair brushing over a forehead of equal colour, and flowing into a short ponytail tucked into his robes, Evelond almost does not need a spell of Light to guide him at night. His green eyes almost constantly are beaming, and hungry for a debate. It has been known by various acquaintances that Evelond is truly a trickster, a magic one at that; he once threw a ball of light mixed with sauce at Tren Kelteelen, 'fore he stepped into Guardsmanship, as well as enlarging, setting harmless fire to, and temporarily blinding him.

He quite often spends long periods of time, days even, in his room at the Mistyvale, simply studying the Art. During this time he permits not even inn staff to enter, 'for their own safety', he claims.

Evelond hails from nowhere; he simply arrived in Cear by sea, 632, on a boat of merchants. He refuses to tell from whence he came, but when asked, a merchant confirmed he was on a raft, floating in the direction of the mainland, heading for south of Old Daris, without any particular destination apparent, when they picked him up.

((thinking of adding more contentto this bio, it seems rather poorly written to me))

((picture to be added as soon as I get on Dasaria! :) ))

The Bio of Res Nos

Res Nos, son of the Laucian Xiloszient began approximately before 50 years his education on the legendary magic-school called Elvish University of Arcane Magic (EUAM).

Already after 15 years of study the arts of arcane magic he could receive successful diploma in Evocation.

The EUAM can be found on a concealed small island which is probably located in the midst of the eastern great sea. It´s exact location is only known by certain Sunelves and may only enter by those race.

His mentor is one of the most famous wizard among the Sunelves. His name is Master Aramil. Unfortunately he vanished without a trace recently. There´s a strong rumor being afloat that he was possibly kidnapped by hostilely humen. One of the coast-guardmen saw a few days before the vanish of Master Aramil on the horizon a strange ship crossing the sea near the island. But after the Guardsman reported the occurrence no one have seen the ship again.

So the leaders of the EUAM recently decided after a controverse debate that 12 students of the arcane arts should be send out in all four cardinal points to find their missing master.

One of those students is Res Nos. Not long ago the ship he was travelling with was get caught in a gale and was damaged so hardly that the crew decided to stop at the habour of the city Cear. Unfortunaltely all of his equipment and money was fallen overboard and a lot of sailors died.

Res Nos gets from time to time a visit from a small bird. This bird is a magic bird and it is able to speak the elvish language. It will always able to find Res Nos. The bird is the only communication instrument for him to receive instructions from the university elders and he can also report his location and the progress of the search. The bird can memorize only one minute speech so only important notes can be send.

A few days ago the bird came and told him that he should stay in Cear as long he is well equipped to continue the search towards the northern directions. In addiction he was delegated to observe the land of the human race. The Elders of the university suspect that humen be behind the kidnapping of the Master to recover the secret mighty elven-magic developments for warfare.

So Res Nos started the investigation especially in the magic-schools and lodges in Cear to get any hint for his mission...

Bio of Tyrande Whisper

Post by Tyrande »

It was not exactly known where Tyrande came from. She was probably adopted by the Whisper family as she was not human. Her roots probably tied to a concealed small island located in the eastern great sea, where lies the Elvish University of Arcane Magic.

A kind human sailor found an almost drowning woman at sea near the harbor of Cear. She was bearing a child. The kind human sailor tried to save her after bringing her ashore. She gave birth to a baby and asked the kind man to name her child "Tyrande". As the kind human sailor was not skilled at the arts of healing and obstetrics, and too late to call on the help of Cearean midwifes, Tyrande's mother passed away at Tyrande's birth after giving the final words to the kind human sailor to take good care of the baby.

Tyrande grew up in the Whisper family, with her foster parents. Her human foster father is a skilled fletcher, bowyer and archer; while her human foster mother seemed to be very involved with the Magnus Order.

Tyrande was forced into lady-like mannerism by her foster mom. Tyrande was mis-treated by her foster mom at youth. She has to wake up early and do all the Whisper family housework. All the cooking, washing, cleaning, etc. which Tyrande hates to do. After all the house work, Tyrande has to take drawing, singing and dancing lessons at the Cearean school of Art as recommended by her foster mother in the afternoon. Her foster mother said this is in order to find a suitable husband for her.

In the evenings; however, Tyrande got some breathing room and secretly going through all the mystic writings and secretly listened to all the words of power that was in the basement meetings of her foster mother with other Magnus members. Surprisingly Tyrande understood all the writings and runes in the arcane books with ease.

Tyrande's foster father wanted Tyrande to grow up with some skills to defend herself. He trained her in the arts of archery, and shooting with precision and focus on the weak spots of the dummies. He even brought her hunting wolves and sometimes goblins on goblin hill. During recess,
She also went to the library and checked out books related to what she read. One day, she even found a book titled, "The Book of All Elements" on goblin hill while defending herself. She read the book, not comprehending some parts of the book...

Roquelaire kills for a living. She does not kill out of lust or anger, rage or jealousy. She mostly kills because an employer pays her to.

She is a professional.

Her accent betrays origin in Old Varana.

Cid is a thoughtful gnome, bursting with creativity and ideas that practically crawl out of his skin. His face is constantly covered in soot from experiments or technological research gone awry (though he will never admit this) often resulting in a large display of fire and smoke. He is currently developing the 'world reknown' Breath-o-matic XG750 among other useful items. This helps you breathe. More. It is untested underwater, thus far.

Constantly yawning and rubbing his eyes, large bags from sleep deprivation can be found under the young Gnome's eyes, he often claims that sleep removes the chance for progress. He dislikes the fact that research claims it takes up 37% of your life span. That's 36% too much for Cid. He has no surname, and is wandering on his own personal agenda.

Allaric Wyvernsbane

Post by blackheart »

Allaric Wyvernsbane is a ranger of the north wilds, delighting in the uninhabited, green places of the world, in sleeping under the stars, and in reading the ever-changing signs of the land and its creatures. As one might expect, such a man leads a relatively solitary existence, and he can often be found walking far afield with his own thoughts. However, Allaric is no savage misanthrope. He neither eschews entirely the company of his fellow man nor feels himself above the occasional scout or guide job for merchants on the dangerous overland route west. He’s even been known from time-to-time to lend his bow to a party of fellow fortune-seekers.

Despite unsubstantiated rumors of his past association with certain robber-hood types, Allaric’s own roguish streak is rather attributable to the hard dealing of his upbringing than any proven (in a court of the empire) predilection for outlaw philanthropy. Born into the noted horse-trading Wyvernssbanes of Corda, Allaric had been called to work from a very young age, quickly developing a sense for both the haggling and husbandry sides of the business. When his father passed on and his eldest brother assumed the mantle of family patriarch, this disinherited fifth son was asked to seek his fortune elsewhere. Fortunately, his uncle Robert, an imperial forester (some say poacher) operating in the forests north of Ravenswatch agreed to take the young man in.

As a result of his early years, Allaric is probably somewhat more comfortable in town than most outdoors-types (though it is certainly not his preference), and even ventured onto a ship once. He also has a keen sense for quality horseflesh, and knows how to correctly hold a fork in polite company. He respects a self-made man (or woman), and is naturally suspicious of authority and those that make their living from imposing their will on others. Still, he is circumspect by nature, and is willing to render unto Marcus what is Marcus’, as long as he's being watched.

Physically, Allaric appears to be a tall, lithe-muscled man of about 40 years, with cold black eyes and grey-streaked dark hair. He often wears broad-brimmed hat to keep out the sun, although some say it’s to better keep others from gauging his expression.

Allaric is sometimes seen with a small brown bear named Fiare in tow. However, she has a mind of her own and sometimes wanders off to defend travelers from wolves and other predators when he isn't looking.

Neradur Verus is an enigmatic moon elf of unknown intent. He comes and goes like the wind, meddling with various affairs to a mysterious end. Few really know his name, as he never speaks, which has earned him various titles such as "The silent one" "The silent mage" "The mute" and so on.

Few that would have encountered him in other regions would describe him as strange and giving them an uneasy chill. He often sits with his hands folded, in quiet contemplation while plots and calculations take place behind his eyes.

Hushed rumours in different places he's visited would seem to indicate he may have done some spy or mercenary work and he has been suspected in some killings and acts of destruction by fire, along with puppeteering political and government factions.

----------

Race: Moon elf
Age: Unknown
Religion: Faithless
Appearance: Pale blue skin with sharp, piercing crystal blue eyes. He's of average height, with darkened blue hair which hangs loosely over his face. He hardly looks the demeanor you would expect to see in most elves.

Guardsman Zadrithurn Norentun fancies himself a soldier, patriot and upstanding citizen. Coming from a childhood filed with hard lessons and even harder training, he has been raised on very heavy doses of pro-Varana and pro Emperor rhetoric as well as countless lessons on the evils of disorder and barbarism. Having recently joined the Guardsmen, he works now to spread his beloved Varanite values throughout the underdeveloped provinces of 'Dasaria'. He has a low tolerance for 'beating around the bush' and other shenanigans, and an even lower tolerance for ''darklings' and 'half-breeds'. He has no qualms about making these tolerance levels known to travelers.

He is a tall, fairly slim man with a physique quite obviously carved from years and years of physical training and sport. His dark crimson hair is cut short and neat atop his head and around his jawline. Light, gray eyes tend to be the focus point on his otherwise plain face. He always carries himself with a posture and stride that have been formed by years of harsh and constant discipline.

But Victors head was filled with stories of glory and noble fighters. At the age of 19 he ran away from home. He wandered arround for a while and learned about an order of knights called Dracordian Knights. He know try and be one like them (not always succeding though...)

Post by Thracius Trueblade »

Sir Thracius Trueblade is one of the few remaining knights left in Varana. He apparently hails from a small island realm known as Arylius which was annexed into the empire without bloodshed several years ago.

Although his Knightship is recognised by the empire, as per the Arylian treaty, the emperor has decreed that all former knights shall retain their title as a symbolic gesture only, and thus Thracius holds no political or military authority within the empire. However, this does not stop him from being a well-known figure around the city of Cear. He is often seen alongside his squire, Findal, and whilst the two seem to be an odd pairing, there is no doubt that they have known eachother a long time, and share the kind of friendship that can only be forged in the heat of battle.

Although stripped of his authority, Thracius retains the air of noble dignity associated with his kind. Indeed, he seems to radiate authority and respect, and few who meet him are not struck by his sheer force of personality. Many have felt naturally inclined to follow him, and there is no doubt he is a skilled leader of men. When he speaks, his words are wise and measured, and his skills in diplomacy are legendary, remaining unfazed even in the most heated of situations. His piercing gaze seems to be permanently focused on the horizon, as if he is stares into the future and sees something that other men cannot. Occasionally, a subtle, knowing smile can be seen playing across his lips.

Clad head to toe in shining plate (a testament to the hard work of his squire, Findal, who apparently polishes it on a daily basis), Thracius stands a little taller than the average man. Across his back is strapped a mighty greatsword, which almost seems to hum with barely restrained power. Thracius claims it was his father's sword, and it is an ancient heirloom of his family. From what little can be seen beneath his plate armour (which he wears at all times, so as to be 'prepared'), Thracius appears to have dark hair, and a well-trimmed beard. His dark brown eyes are like deep pools, and some have commented that something about them seems slightly inhuman. Findal claims it is just due to a hint of elven blood in Thracius' lineage, but the knight himself remains silent on the matter.

When asked about his past, Thracius is reluctant to speak. He does not often talk of his homeland, or the events that lead to his appearance in Cear. He is seemingly unemployed, leading to rumours that he is using his considerable wealth to fund some kind of quest. The presence of his squire, Findal, adds weight to this theory. Certainly, his thirst for justice seems insatiable, and he can often be seen in town, attempting to raise a band of adventurers in order to bring vengeance to some evildoer or another. As he often can be heard to say 'there is much work to be done... evil does not smite itself, after all'.

When questioned about his religion, Thracius claims to worship all the gods equally, paying particular respect to Lochwar, of course, as the patron of the empire. When he does the work of the gods, his eyes seem to burn with pious fire, and it almost seems as if his blade is guided by a higher power. Some have even claimed that when the fighting is most desperate, his greatsword seems to glow with purest light and lightning arcs down from the heavens to strike in tandem with his blows. But there are some who question the source of his seemingly god-given powers. If he is truly devoted to no single god, why is it he seems to carry such divine favour into battle? Perhaps it is a mystery that only time can reveal.....

Despite a loving family and close-knit clan, Friam Fole grew up a loner, never quite finding the social graces to fit in. He often went on solo expeditions in the Underdark, partly for the thrill of adventure, and partly just to be alone. Somehow he survived this mis-spent youth, gaining valuable survival skills in the process. After leaving home at an early age, he made his way through the endless caverns and tunnels of the Underdark, eventually emerging into the bright and wonderous surface world.

The relatively young, dark-skinned Gnome eventually wound up in Caer, where he has settled down somewhat, making friends and practicing his smithing skills, but still finding plenty of adventure. Despite his odd accent and occassionally strange habits, a result of his non-native upbringing, most people find him to be a jovial sort and trustworthy adventuring companion. Conversely, those who would kill him have found him to be unexpectedly resiliant, resourceful, and skilled with his blades.

More about Friam can be found in this work in progress.

I'll try to get a picture posted here at some point too.

Pylia Ju'ein is a young elf from one of the prominent families in Rian. The only female in a family of males, she was spoiled and quite sheltered. But not content with the life her family had planned for her, she set out for Cear seeking knowledge and adventure. Good natured and with a ready smile, the young bard is ready to conqueror the hearts and minds of Cear.

Delicate of build and sweet-natured, it is easy to miss the stubborn streak that is very much a part of her nature. Her sense of fun and laughter is not so easy to miss. She is always ready with a melody or a tale, although her true loves are theology and history.

She can usually be found within a group of friends, most often with lute in hand. She was followed by Rian by her three brothers, all determined to protect their fragile sister. Her gentle nature makes many either want to protect her, or take advantage of her. If she calls you friend, she in turn will seek to protect you. If she calls anyone enemy, it is rare. However, with her sharp mind and sharper tongue, most that would earn her ire quickly find themselves at a disadvantage.

Grotz was found by some Monks right in front of their Monastry´s Gate one morning. He was lying in a small basket, covered with ragged clothes. Seeing a new born, totally helpless, one of the monks, named Sho Tse decided to raise this baby, despite of his heritage.
The first years of his life were peaceful and calm, accepted by all members of the order, he grew up in peace, and was trained in the Martial Arts, like all inhabitants of the monastry. He also got his share of decent education, well the social kind of education, because all attempts to teach any kind of knowledge to Grotz seemed to fail. He never really learned to talk properly, never learned to read or write or any kind of academic knowledge. What he did learn though, is that it´s good to help the ones in need, and to fight the evil in this world. The definition of Good / Evil is slightly problematic though, because Grotz doesnt really understand this concept. For him, anyone who is nice to him, is good, anyone who opposes him or his friends is evil. This leads to the problem, that Grotz is very easy to manipulate. Despite his good-hearted nature, he can easily be persuaded to do extremely evil deeds, if his friends tell him to.
One day, when Grotz was training alone outside of the Monastry, an old man in rags walked up to him, and they started talking. The man told Grotz about lots of refugees on their way to the monastry, seeking for protection. They would arrive at about midnight, when the gates were closed, so Grotz offered to open the gates when all others were asleep, so the Refugees would be able to enter th monastry.
That night, Grotz woke up from the sound of battle. Goblins were invading the monastry, killing anything that moved. When the sun was rising, Grotz was the last one standing. All members of his Order were slain, the monastry burned down to the ground. His heart filled with Grief and hatred towards all Goblins. Grotz left his former home. After a year of travelling, he arrived in Cear, which he now refers to as his home.
