Never fear! I am a huge fan of metal who has recently joined these forums! I bring with me a metal factor of at least 8.3.. possibly more. My favorite band/album/song? Hmmm... I would have to say it's a toss-up between Carcass - Reek of Putrefaction and (the mexican) Disgorge - Forensick. Both albums are extremely brutal and have been imitated (sometimes poorly) by countless other bands. :D

Rock is such a watered down blah coverall term. So you're saying Staind (as previously mentioned and i would categorize as rock) > Metallica (also previously mentioned) or Iron Maiden ...... ??

well you gotta go a long way to beat a bit of Pantera: Cowboys from hell/vulgar display of power or perhaprs Sepultura ROOTS. but then thats what I class as metal. Rage and the likes are grunge to me.

BTW, who the fek are Boston?

I guess if I really had to pick it would be Judas Priest's Metal Works 73-93 two CD set if only because that way I could maximize my Judas Priestlyness intake.

I used to be a huuuge Metal fan, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth... way too long hair, sketchy leather jacket, jeans that were two sizes too small..

... But then I grew up.

I'm right there on Cheese's band wagon, i'll take Aerosmith or Dire straits over a dual bass drum any day.
