Expect epic levels, feats, spells, and depending on what races, classes and PrCs they choose to add, maybe those also, to be locked on release. Ultimately, expansion packs result in more being taken away more than they provide. They are nothing more than a cash cow for Atari. They certainly aren't releasing it for the benefit of the community.

You do know though that the game system that nwn and nwn2 are based off of are inherently unbalanced from a player against player aspect anyways.. it was never ment to be balanced for that. Now as far as being balanced for pve well that all depends on the DM's building and controlling/designing the world and adjustments should be made in the world to accomidate such changes as they are introduced as far as pve is concerned.. now you as well as I know that once you throw the ability to pvp into the mix keeping a nice balance between the two is rough, because you might make things that are nice and helpfull for the pve content that has a drastically negative impact on certain class's or build types that I used to see alot in alot of the old nwn servers...

A prime example, you introduce an item with crit immunity pretty much reduces the effectiveness of dex fighters and especially rogue type characters by quite a large margin, wereas things like enchantment/death magic/mind spell immunity take alot of usefull toys from the mage side of things (im sure you've seen servers turned into mainly tankmage and melee only type builds I know i've seen my fair share)..

Anyway from what I've seen so far here on this server thinks look pretty nifty definitly one of the better nwn 2 PW's out at the moment (I've seen a few promising ones give up due to lack of builder help (a daunting task to go at alone) ) Though I think im going to reroll my drow as a human type right now to learn the lay of the land better first ;)

Good idea rerolling your Drow, not only does most everyone dislike them but your experience would be capped at 190000 meaning there is no possible way to reach level 20 with one on Das2...plus they smell funny.

I resent that! You will have a more enjoyable social experience (as in it is easier to get along with others) if you don't play a drow. Elrith was my first character that I rolled up here though and I've stuck with her. It may not seem like it to others but I think she has changed a great deal since living around Cear. I've had lots of fun moments playing the antagonist. Just the other day people were having a conversation about her. It always makes me fool good knowing that I'm making some difference in interacting with others.

As for the expansion I'll probably enjoy the single player and have fun with my epic character. I still think it has little benefit to PWs though apart from new creature models, music, maybe some new base classes, props, and tilesets. I still think this was way too early for them but hey, they're making the money they can do what they want with it. :P

lol I dont mind not being able to hit 20 I just need to learn my way around the world better first before I start playing something that takes alot longer to get out of the low lvl blue's with ;)

I dunno Epic lvl's in pw's are fine and dandy as long as items abilitys are kept in check (one of the most common things to ruin alot of nwn pw's).. because when you get down to it epic lvl's dont unbalance things from a pve or pvp perspective they just require builders to plan accordingly ;) [or aka the server is only as broken as you make it :P players having more options just means dm's and builders have just that many more at their disposal to]

if you wanna add some brokenness to the game go and add the player resource consortium hak to it :P its a ton of fun to be had but I think it creates the balance nightmare your in search of ;D

I don't know who's been keeping up with this, but here's an article on the NWN 2 Expansion.

Interesting things (or screwed over as some might see it):
Level capped at 30
Elemental Races Genasi for Humans
Two New Base Classes: Favored Soul/Spirt Shaman
Prestige Classes: Invisible Blade/Red Wizard of Thay
Godzilla

Will Dasaria be "upgrading" to this expansion? Unfortunately the pros and cons of upgrading seem about equal . . .

In addition to all of this, though, Obsidian has also been making some graphical tweaks to make the entire experience a bit smoother than it was when NWN2 first launched. While the game still looks great, the performance has been improved, and relatively few people should be experiencing the slide shows that many gamers complained about in the original game.
Here's hoping.

Of course, the players are probably referring to the slideshow at the end of the game.

Shame on OE for making the coffee delivery boy narrate the ending script.

Yes, the server will be upgrading to the new expansion pack, but the level cap will be remaining at 20.
It's just a game...
